How it all started
DC Predator began as a way to protect a friend's ranch from coyotes. Initially, we struggled to find effective hunting methods, but through trial and error, we gathered valuable data and improved our tactics. With better gear and experience, we became more successful at keeping the ranch safe.
What began as sharing hunts with friends quickly grew into a passion for creating high-quality content. My love for photography and videography fueled the desire to capture and share the thrill of the hunt.
DC Predator is a team made up of me (Kam), my dad Scott, and my uncle Ken. We’ve always loved guns and shooting, and now, we create high-quality hunting content driven by passion and a respect for nature.

FAQs
-
It can be a challenge, but we’ve built a workflow that allows us to focus on the hunt first while capturing high-quality footage. We’ve invested in top-tier cameras and gear to ensure that our content reflects the thrill and intensity of predator hunting.
-
Our setup has evolved over time, but we primarily use AR platforms and we run suppressors to save our ears and call in multiples. We run all our rifles off two vets tripods that utilize the arca system. We use Arken optics on our hunting rifles because the glass quality is incredible and their prices don't break the bank. We also utilize Sceery hand calls and Lucky Duck electronic calls to bring coyotes nice and close. We use Kryptek Highlander camo to stay concealed in the AZ desert.
-
Early mornings and late evenings tend to be the most productive. Coyotes are more active during these times, but night hunts can also be effective, especially with the right thermal gear.
-
Patience and persistence are key. Coyotes are smart and cautious, so you’ll need to pay attention to your wind direction, stay quiet, and choose the right stand location. Learn from your mistakes and always adjust your tactics based on what you observe in the field. But most importantly HAVE FUN!
-
We recommend a variety of calibers depending on the environment. For AZ and closer-range hunts, 22 Nosler, .223 or .22-250 work well. It’s important to choose a rifle that you’re comfortable with and can handle efficiently.
-
One of the biggest mistakes is being too noisy or not paying attention to wind direction. Coyotes have excellent hearing and smell, so any unnatural sound or scent can spook them quickly. Be patient, move slowly, and always be mindful of your surroundings.
-
We track every hunt using a spreadsheet, recording weather conditions, stand locations, and call sequences. This helps us understand what works and what doesn’t, allowing us to refine our strategy over time.
